Georgian Kakheti region reveals volume of processed grapes

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 21

Some 120,000 tons of grapes have been processed in the Georgian Kakheti region as of September 21, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

The daily grape processing rate has reached more than 10,000 tons.

The vintage in the Kakheti region has entered the active stage.

One hundred sixty-four wine producer companies are registered in the special grape vintage coordination center, while 60 wineries are involved in the grape processing.

The subsidy will be given to a wine company that will purchase and process at least 1,000 tons of Rkatsiteli or Kakhetian Green. The subsidy per one kg equals 0.30 lari (9.44 cents).
