Cotton harvesting starts in Azerbaijan's Beylagan district

Cotton harvesting has begun in Beylagan district of Azerbaijan, Trend reports with reference to the Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation.
In 2020, cotton was grown on 3,200 hectares belonging to Azerpambig LLC, 3,880 hectares - MKT Istehsalat Kommersiya LLC, 820,000 hectares - P-Agro LLC, as well as in the territories belonging to other organizations, the corporation said.
According to the corporation, the cotton fields were provided with the necessary agrotechnical care, mineral fertilizers and timely watering, as a result of which an increase in yield is observed.
More than 26,000 tons of cotton is expected to be produced in Beylagan region this season, the corporation said.
In September, the reconstruction of the Azerpambig LLC cotton processing plant, located in the Agjabadi district of Azerbaijan, was completed. It has already been put into operation.
The reconstruction of the plant began in 2019, with the aim of increasing production capacity and increasing the daily processing volume to 200 tons.
