EAEU countries increase exports of sugar products to Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 29

Some 1,369 tons of chemically pure lactose, glucose and other types of sugar were exported to Turkmenistan from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) from January through July 2020, which exceeds the figure for the same period last year by 39.8 percent, Trend reports with reference to statistical data of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The amount of the above-mentioned chemically pure lactose, glucose and other types of sugar exports was $530,046, which also exceeds last year's amount by 20.6 percent.

Thus, Russia was an exporter of chemically pure lactose, glucose and other types of sugar.

According to statistics, 852 tons of sugar confectionery products were exported from Kazakhstan and Russia to Turkmenistan from January through July 2020, which exceeds the export of the same products to Turkmenistan in the same period of last year by 85.3 percent.

Thus, the amount of exports amounted to $1.1 million, which also shows an increase in the amount of 73.4 percent.

In general, sugar was exported to Turkmenistan from Russia and Kazakhstan in the amount of 58,975 tons in the same period, for a total of $862,340.

As reported, from January through May 2020, 44,871 tons of sugar were exported to Turkmenistan from the countries of the EAEU for a total of $16.8 million.

The mentioned amount of sugar was exported to Turkmenistan by such EAEU countries as Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.
