Georgia reveals volume of processed grapes as of Sept.29

Some 207,000 tons of grapes have been processed in Georgian region of Kakheti as of September 29 Trend reports via Georgian National Wine Agency.

The vintage in Kakheti region is at its peak stage.

Local growers have processed the following grape varieties: 146,000 tons of Rkatsiteli, 52,000 tons of Saperavi, 3,600 tons of Kakhetian green and other varieties of grapes.

Winegrowers’ revenues amount to $213 million. The daily grape processing rate has reached 10,000-14,000 tons. About 167 wineries are involved in grape processing.

Meanwhile, the government of Georgia is subsidzing the 2020 grape harvest, especially the grape varieties of Rkatsiteli and Kakhuri Mtsvane in order to support farmers completely sell their produce.

The price of Rkatsiteli and Kakhuri Mtsvane will not be less than 80 tetri (24.85 cents).
