The anode copper production of the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) increased by 12 percent compared to the envisaged plan during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), Managing Director of the NICICO, Ardashir Sad Mohammadi said, Trend reports referring to the company’s website.
Sad Mohammadi noted according to the plan, the anode copper production was to be about 160,000 tons. However, the production was 180,000 tons.
“In addition, the production of cathode copper increased by 8 percent compared to the plan during the reporting period,” he added.
The director stressed that the cathode copper production of the NICICO was to be 130,000 tons. However, this production reached 140,000 tons.
"According to the plan, 84 million tons of raw materials were to be extracted from the mines of the NICICO. However, the production increased by 4 percent to 87.1 million tons," he said.
Sad Mohammadi emphasized the NICICO produced about 600,000 tons of copper concentrate over six months. This is an increase of 4 percent compared to the announced plan (577,000 tons).
