Georgia reveals volume of processed grape as of October 5

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 5

Some 247,000 tons of grapes have been processed in Georgian region of Kakheti as of October 5, Trend reports via the National Wine Agency of Georgia.

Out of the processed grapes, 166,000 tons were of the Rkatsiteli variety, 68,000 tons were Saperavi, while 4,000 tons were Kakhuri Mtsvane.

Winegrowers’ revenues amount to 260 million lari ($81.5 million).

The daily grape processing rate has reached 10,000-14,000 tons.

About 186 wineries are involved in the grape processing process.

The subsidy will be given to a wine company that will purchase and process at least 1,000 tons of Rkatsiteli or Kakhetian Green. The subsidy per one kg equals 0,30 lari (9.41 cents).
