TEHRAN, Iran, Oct.8
Trend:
Iran space programs would continue despite the ongoing global pandemic, as programs are currently progressing, said Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Technology.
"Satellite projects are progressing and Pars 1 satellite testing has finished and soon would be delivered to the Iranian Space Agency," said Morteza Baradari, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
According to him, other projects are also progressing without any delay and the public would be informed after final tests.
"Parallel development of space technology and services would improve the path and private sector investment even in the satellite operator sector would expand domestic and foreign markets. Space technology could resolve current issues in the country including monitoring strategic products such as wheat, oat, and rice, and damages from floods," he added.
Baradari also noted that the data collected by satellites would be provided to the space-based businesses for free which could assist them in their business operations.
"Iranian Space Agency has installed stations that would obtain collected data from its satellites to be used in businesses including analysis of the environment, dust, air pollution, agriculture, monitoring natural disasters, mine exploration, water sources, forests," he stated.
So far satellite services have collected valuable data for policymakers which could help the development of the country.
