UAE, UK purchase aviation kerosene on Turkmenistan’s commodity exchange

Entrepreneurs from the UAE, the UK and Afghanistan purchased aviation kerosene and gasoline during trading on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports, citing the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

In addition, entrepreneurs from Turkey purchased high-density polyethylene for foreign currency. Also, the UAE and Turkey purchased cotton and denim fabrics, cotton yarn and plastic containers for foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $19.8 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manats were also made on the exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs from the UAE and Afghanistan purchased carpets and cotton yarn for a total amount of about 1.3 million manat ($381,168).

Also, domestic entrepreneurs bought polypropylene and carpet products for sale on the local market of the country, for the amount of more than 5.7 million manat ($1.6 million).

In total, 20 transactions were registered on the exchange over the past week.

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
