Head of the Carpet House of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Markazi province Hashem Riahi has announced that $25,000 worth of hand-made carpets were exported from this province to different parts of the world last year, Trend reports via IRNA.
"Most of the export shipments of hand-made carpets from Markazi province have been sent to Kuwait, France and the Netherlands,” Riahi said.
He said that two licenses to set up carpet weaving workshops and 287 carpet weaving cards were issued by the Province`s carpet house during the current Iranian year (started on March 20).
Some 9,450 hand-made carpet weavers in different parts of Markazi province are covered by social security insurance, IRNA report previously said.
