Memorandum on implementation of single window system in Turkmenistan signed

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on joint cooperation to promote the implementation of the Single Window for Export-Import Operations project in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to the inistry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The memorandum was signed during the videoconference of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, UNCTAD Secretary-General Mukhisa Kituyi and Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Assistant Administrator of UNDP, Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.

The memorandum will become the basis for digitalization of trade and transport links in the implementation of global and regional strategies for sustainable development.

The integrated customs information system "ASYCUDA World" is currently being developed in the system of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan in cooperation with UNCTAD and UNDP. Thus, this system will become the main platform for the gradual and effective implementation of the the Single Window for Export-Import Operations system in the financial sector of Turkmenistan, in particular in the banking, transport and other sectors, as well as in Turkmenstandardlary Main State Service.

During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated Turkmenistan's strategic partnership with the UN and its specialized agencies, in particular UNCTAD and UNDP.

In this context, the importance of fruitful cooperation over the past five years in the development of the digital economy, as well as sustainable transport and trade in Turkmenistan was emphasized.
