Azerbaijan eyes to introduce domestic products to Arab markets

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct.21

By Fidan Babayeva - Trend:

The Association for Cooperation with Arab Countries is making every effort to ensure that Azerbaijani goods are present in the markets of Arab countries not as periodic goods, but as permanent ones, executive director of the Association for Cooperation with Arab Countries Yalchin Aliyev told Trend.

According to the data, the volume of exports from Azerbaijan at the current stage is not expected to be large, since the Arab markets are poorly familiar with Azerbaijani products.

"Export of Azerbaijani products to the Syrian market is expected. Access to this market will be provided through Jordan, negotiations in this direction have already taken place," Aliyev said.

The executive director of the association added that along with this, Azerbaijani products are also planned to be brought to the markets of Egypt, Oman, and Bahrain.

He also said that it is mainly planned to export food and agricultural products (fruits and vegetables, juices, compotes, canned food, jam, preserves, dried fruits).

"In turn, the business circles of these countries expressed their readiness to invest in the pharmaceutical, petrochemical industry, hotel, and restaurant business of Azerbaijan. Investments should be expected after the end of the pandemic when investors can come to the country and get acquainted with the existing conditions on the spot," Aliyev noted.
