Turkmenistan sells gasoline, diesel fuel to number of countries on exchange

Entrepreneurs from Germany, the UAE, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan purchased gasoline, diesel fuel, base oil, and total petroleum coke in foreign currency during the trading on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

In addition, entrepreneurs from Panama and Afghanistan purchased heavy vacuum gas oil in foreign currency and representatives of Russia – polyethylene.

Russia, China, the US, Germany, the UAE, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan also bought colorless flat glass, dyed terry products, cotton yarn, dried roots, and licorice rhizome in foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions on the exchange in foreign currency exceeded $30.4 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on the exchange. Entrepreneurs from the UK, the UAE, Turkey, Kazakhstan, cotton yarn, and entrepreneurs from Pakistan – licorice root extract. The total amount of the mentioned transactions reached 34.2 million manat ($9.8 million).

Also, for manat, domestic entrepreneurs bought polypropylene film and cotton fiber for sale in the domestic market of the country in the amount of more than 7.6 million manat ($2.2 million).

In total, 80 transactions were registered on the exchange over the past week.

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
