Exports from Azerbaijan to Denmark amounted to $73.3 million from January through September of this year, while a year earlier this figure was 715,000, Trend with reference to the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.
Thus, Denmark's share in Azerbaijan's total exports increased to 0.47 percent.
From January through September of 2020, imports of products from Denmark to Azerbaijan decreased from $31.1 million to us $18.9 million year-on-year.
Denmark's share in Azerbaijan's total imports was 0.24 percent of the total volume, compared to 0.3 percent for the same period last year.
The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and Denmark amounted to $ 68.6 million, which is 2.15 times more than in the same period last year.
Thus, the balance of Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover with Denmark during the reporting period remained positive, amounting to $30.8 million.
In general, in the reporting period, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $18.4 billion, which is 27.1 percent less than the same indicator in 2019.
The balance of foreign trade turnover decreased by 38.6 percent year-on-year, but remained positive, amounting to $2.7 billion.
In 2008, the Danish Carlsberg company acquired one of the largest breweries in Azerbaijan, on the territory of Khirdalan village. Currently, 60 percent of the beer market in Azerbaijan is made up of Carlsberg Azerbaijan products.
Medicines are mainly imported from Denmark to Azerbaijan. The Danish capital is being invested in agriculture and large-scale irrigation projects are being developed.
The countries cooperate in such areas as "green" and "clean energy". Since 2018, cooperation in the field of energy efficiency has been carried out.
In 2017, a joint Azerbaijani-Danish enterprise for the production of Turkey meat was established on the territory of Ismayilli district.
