Kyrgyzstan becomes main nuts importer from Uzbekistan

The volume of exported nuts from Uzbekistan from January through September in value terms amounted to $12.2 million, while in physical terms its volume accounted for 2,180 tons, Trend reports citing the press service of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

Some 32 percent of these exports, cleared under the customs' regime, fell on Kyrgyzstan, while nine percent fell on Russia and Belarus and eight percent of nuts were exported to Iran.

This year, the export of nuts from Uzbekistan to Hungary, Korea, China, Switzerland, and Germany has been established for the first time.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the volume of exports of fruits and vegetables from January through September 2020 amounted to 1,088,600 tons, while in value terms it accounted for $696.1 million. The rate of decrease, compared to the same period in 2019 amounted to 27.4 percent.

Some 581,500 tons of vegetables were exported for $255.4 million, as well as 282,500 tons of fruits and berries for $276.3 million. The rate of decline in value terms compared to the same period in 2019 amounted to 31.8 percent and 16.8 percent, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that Uzbekistan plans to export beans, mung bean, chickpeas, almonds, walnuts, raisins, dried apricots, prunes, and dried figs to the US.
