Azerbaijan discloses volume of imported wheat

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 9

Azerbaijan imported wheat worth $206.3 million from January through September 2020, Trend reports with reference to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

The decline in import compared to last year amounted to 14.3 percent.

"Azerbaijan imported 968,200 tons of wheat from January through September 2020, which is 12.9 percent less than from January through September 2019,” the report said. “The share of wheat in Azerbaijan's total import volume is 2.64 percent."

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $18.4 billion from January through September 2020, which is 27.1 percent less than from January through September 2019.

The export accounted for $10.6 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which was 28.8 percent less on an annual basis.

The share of export for the year decreased by 1.4 percentage points up to 57.49 percent of the total volume of foreign trade turnover.
