Volume of goods exported from Iran's Razavi Khorasan declines

The exported goods from the Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) decreased by 21 percent in terms of value and 30 percent in terms of volume during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, said Mohammad Reza Mesforush, the Chairman of Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Razavi Khorasan Province, Trend reports citing the organization’s website.

"During the reporting period, 1.45 million tons of goods worth $734 million were exported from the Razavi Khorasan Province," he said.

According to Mesforush, the exported goods were mainly saffron, iron or steel shafts, pistachios, tomatoes, potatoes, and others.

The chairman emphasized the goods were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Hong Kong, Pakistan, the UAE, Spain, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

He added that moreover, 92,000 tons of goods worth $210 million were imported to Razavi Khorasan Province within seven months.

"The imported goods increased by 5 percent in value and decreased by 43 percent in terms of volume," the chairman noted.

Mesforush said that the imported goods were mainly mobile phones, cotton, silk, coffee, wire, cable, and so on.

The chairman stressed the goods were mainly imported from the UAE, Uzbekistan, China, Turkey, India, Germany, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Pakistan.
