Special land funds for growing agricultural crops are being created in Turkmenistan, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

This was said during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

Also, Turkmenistan continues to expand the acreage of potatoes and other vegetable crops.

Along with this, the regions continue to take care of wheat crops. The remaining cotton in the fields is also being collected and agricultural machinery and equipment are being prepared for next year's cotton sowing. Also, sugar beet is harvested in Balkan and Mary regions.

To increase the volume of production of vegetables, melons and fruits in the country, as well as to reduce the import of these products, the regions are collecting vegetables and melons planted in the fall of this year, placing them in cold storage and selling them to the population.

Turkmenistan is using foreign equipment in its agricultural sector, and in particular, the equipment provided by US companies such as John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG and Claas. Thus, earlier John Deere company delivered more cotton harvesting machines to Turkmenistan.

In August last year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental protection of Turkmenistan and John Deere Walldorf GmbH & Co.KG signed a memorandum for the development of telematic digitalization in the country's agro-industrial sector.

According to the document, in the next few years, John Deere and Claas will deliver brands special equipment for Turkmenistan.

Agriculture in Turkmenistan is developing rapidly. It is one of the most important sectors of the country's economy. The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Turkmenistan are wheat, cotton, rice, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, and fruits.
