Azerbaijan's trade balance remains positive

Legal entities and individuals in Azerbaijan conducted trade operations with partners from 178 countries from January through September 2020, Trend reports with reference to data of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.

In particular, Azerbaijani products were exported to 107 countries and imported from 167 countries.

The country's foreign trade turnover amounted to $17.8 billion (including the statistical value of crude oil and natural gas exported by customs authorities, but the customs clearance of which was not fully completed), including $10 billion of exports and $7.8 billion of imports in the reporting period of 2020. As a result, the trade surplus was almost $2.2 billion.

Compared to the period from January through September 2019, foreign trade turnover in real prices decreased by 28.2 percent, in real terms - by 22 percent, imports - by 38.7 percent and exports- by 10 percent.

However, during this period, the country exported non-oil products worth $1.3 billion, which is 9.2 percent less in actual prices than in the same period last year, and 18.2 percent less in real terms.
