Iran, Iraq discuss gas exports

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 13

Trend:

The CEO of the Iran National Gas Company announced that recently an Iraqi pipeline exploded on the way to Basra, which now is repairing and will be connected to the network soon.

Referring to the latest situation of gas exports to Iraq, Hassan Montazer Torbati said that "We currently export gas to Iraq from two points, the main export is in summer, which is used for power plants," Trend reports citing ILNA.

"Traditionally, in the winter, the amount of Iraqi gas imports decreases," he added.

Referring to Iraqi payments for Iranian gas and electricity he says that the Central Bank is responsible for the return of Iran monies.

"Recently the CBI governor Mr. Hemmati had a trip to Iraq and negotiations have been held to return the demands for export gas," he said.
