A total of 4,709 tons of apples worth $2 million were exported from Georgia from August 1 to October 15, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
The mentioned exports are 11-times more than the exports for the same period of the previous year. The value of exports increased by $1.8 million.
Apples were exported to the Russian Federation (4,550 tons) as well as to Kazakhstan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
To facilitate the export of fruits, the necessary documentation is prepared and issued in a "single window" mode. Representatives of phytosanitary and customs services are involved in the process.
A working group has been created in the ministry, which is actively working in the field of searching and collecting information, systematizing, connecting farmers and distributors.
