Kazakhstan's ferroalloy plant launches another furnace increasing output capacities

Third furnace the capacity of which is 85.5 megavolt-ampere has been commissioned at Kazakhstan’s YDD Corporation high technology ferroalloy plant, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan Development Bank which provided financial support to the project.

The commissioning of the furnace will allow to increase overall capacities of YDD Corporation by 30 percent to 180,000 tons of end product a year.

The plant-produced products meet the highest world quality requirements. And during the pandemic, the plant expanded the geography of sales to 15 countries and developed the export potential of Kazakhstan. At the moment, the plant exports products to more than 37 countries around the world, and its main sales markets are Japan, South Korea, Europe, the US.

The YDD Corporation LLP plant was launched in July 2019. The share of the local content of the project is over 95 percent. The main activity of the enterprise is the production of high-quality, high-quality ferrosilicon (FeSi75), which is used in the smelting and alloying of steel, cast iron alloys - to improve the mechanical and corrosion resistance of metals.

Ferrosilicon is used in industrial and civil construction, in shipbuilding, aviation, automobile construction, etc. The production capacity of the plant is 180,000 tons of products per year.
