Iran declares its trade turnover with Eurasian Economic Union

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 18

The value of trade turnover between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member countries amounted to $3.41 billion over one year (from October 27, 2019, through October 26, 2020), International Cooperation Director at the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Hossein Kakhaki said, Trend reports citing the IRICA.

According to him, Iran exported $1.09 billion worth of goods to EAEU member countries during the reporting period.

Kakhaki added that Iran exported about $527 million worth of goods to Russia, $151 million worth to Kazakhstan, $49.2 million worth to Kyrgyzstan, and $16.8 million worth to Belarus.

The director noted that at the same time, Iran imported $2.32 billion worth of goods from EAEU member countries during a year.

“Thus, Iran imported $1.9 billion worth of goods from Russia, $357 million worth from Kazakhstan, $40.8 million worth from Belarus and $6.47 million worth from Kyrgyzstan within the same period,” he said.

A temporary trade memorandum was signed between Iran and the EEU on October 27, 2019. In accordance with the memorandum, 862 kinds of products will be imported and exported upon preferential tariffs between the two sides.

Iran will export 502 kinds of products and import 360 kinds of products. Iran will export pistachios, kiwi, oil products, raisins, cucumbers, cabbages, dates, medicines, cement, copper, methanol.

Iran will import barley, animal feed, vegetable oil, cathode, etc.
