The volume of raw materials production reached 552.7 million manat ($325.1 million) in the Azerbaijani metallurgical industry from January through October 2020, which is by 1.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.
A total of 209,600 tons of steel were melted in Azerbaijan over the mentioned period, a decline of 25.3 percent. Meanwhile, the country produced 189,800 tons of fittings, a decline of 25.5 percent.
In accordance with the report, 27,500 tons of steel pipes were produced in the reporting period, a decline of 27.1 percent. Up to 27,000 tons of primary alloys were obtained from unprocessed aluminum, a decrease by 5.6 percent.
Prefabricated building structures made of ferrous metals worth 19.4 million manat ($11.4 million) were produced, a decrease of 23.4 percent, other structures made of ferrous metals - about 29,000 tons, an increase of 54.2 percent.
Some 4,250 tons of flexible wires, cables and bare copper wire, showing an increase of 4.2 percent, were produced.
The volume of raw materials production in the Azerbaijani metallurgical industry amounted to 763.5 million manat ($449.1 million) in 2019, decreasing by 20 percent compared to 2018.
The production of finished metal products increased by 82.4 percent, amounting to 214.6 million manat ($126.2 million).
hus, the overall industrial production in Azerbaijan increased by 35.5 percent and the total gross production amounted to 901.4 million manat ($530.2 million).
