Kazakhstan's revenue from transporting passengers by air plummets

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport amounted to 7.8 billion tenge ($18.3 million) over the first ten months of 2020, which is 10.7 percent more than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via air transport in Oct. 2020 amounted to 904.5 million tenge ($2.1 million), which is 7.7 percent more than during the same period of 2019.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via air transport during the reporting period amounted to 17,530 tons, which is 18.5 percent less compared to the same period of last year (2,050 tons in Oct. 2020, down by 17.2 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 42.7 million ton-kilometers which is 36 percent less than during the same period of last year (3.5 million in Oct. 2020, a decrease of 53.5 percent).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 146.3 billion tenge ($341.2 million) over the first ten months of 2020, which is 51.6 percent less than during the same period of last year. October’s revenue from passenger transportation was 17.5 billion tenge ($40.8 million), which is 48.5 percent less than in Oct. 2019.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 4.4 million people, which is 38.2 percent less than during the same period of last year (621,520 passengers in Oct. 2020, down by 19.5 percent).

The passenger turnover amounted to 6.7 billion passenger-kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 52.1 percent. October’s passenger turnover was 917.1 million (35.7 percent decrease year-on-year).
