Iran unveils value of kiwifruit exports from Iran's Mazandaran Province

A total of 3,220 tons of kiwifruit worth $1.36 million were exported from the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 21, 2020), Director-General of Mazandaran Province Customs Office, Ali Yousefimanesh said, Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

Yousefimanesh noted that the most value of kiwifruit from Mazandaran province were exported to India, Bahrain, Iraq and Russia.

He added that 2,100 tons of kiwifruit worth $894,000 were exported from Mazandaran Province in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (from October 22 through November 20).

The director-general emphasized that due to the re-issuance of permits for the kiwifruit exports as of October 6, the kiwifruit in this volume were exported in the 8th month.

Iran's Mazandaran province accounts for 2.5 percent of Iran's total agricultural area. The province produces more than 7.5 million tons of agricultural products a year.
