According to Hassani, it is estimated that Iran will produce about 4.12 million tons of apples in the current Iranian year.

“Furthermore, about 1.3 million tons of apples are planned to be stored in the current Iranian year. Some part of the stored apples is exported later. Thus, about 740,000 tons of stored apples were exported in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019, to March 20, 2020),” he added.

The official stressed that about 750,000 tons of apples will be stored in Iran's West Azerbaijan Province and 320,000 tons in East Azerbaijan Province in the current Iranian year.
