Rural digitalization project successfully underway in Kazakhstan

Transtelecom (TTS) JSC is currently implementing a number of measures within the Digital Kazakhstan state program, a source in the company told Trend.

According to the source, the program was developed in pursuance of the tasks set by the country’s president in his Address to the people called "The third modernization of Kazakhstan: global competitiveness", especially digitalization of industry and the electric power sector, including the project "Implementation of mobile "Magistral" Automated Control System.

The source also noted that Transtelecom JSC as a state partner in the project "Providing broadband access to rural settlements of the Republic of Kazakhstan using the technology of fiber-optic communication lines" operating under the State Program "Digital Kazakhstan - 2020" provides residents of the villages, state and budgetary institutions, private organizations with technical possibility of broadband Internet access.

As the company’s representative pointed out, the project has successfully completed its task - by extending fiber-optic communication lines for 5,624 km.

"This allowed connecting 429 villages to a high-speed broadband Internet access network. As a result, 1,222 government agencies and budgetary institutions were connected,” the source said. “Currently, measures are taken on connecting the residents to the network, which will create a digital environment for the rural areas and contribute to the development of human capital and economic growth in the country.”
