Imported car prices have dropped by 25 to 30 percent since the US election outcome released, said the vice president of the Automobile Exhibitors Union of Iran.

“The price of foreign cars is still decreasing. For example, the BMW X4 car which has reached the price of $1.5 million 20 days ago was sold at $1 million last week,” the vice president of the Automobile Exhibitors Union of Iran, Assad Karami said, Trend reports citing ILNA.

He went on to make other examples of the drop in foreign car prices and said that the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe has reached $500,000 from $800,000.

He said that the used car prices also experienced a sharp drop.

“Among the used Sonata cars 2017 Hyundai Sonata price was decreased by $100,000 reached $291,000,” he said.

He went on to say that the domestic made cars did not affect by the US election result. Karami noted that the car market is stagnant. The cars are exchanging at a lower cost than the market price, he said.
