Some 23,404 tons of plums worth $13.9 million have been registered in the export customs regime in Uzbekistan over the past 10 months of this year, Trend reports referring to the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, 42 percent of the total plums each were exported to Kazakhstan and to Russia, while the share of plums exported to Kyrgyzstan amounted to 16 percent.
In addition, this year the export of this fruit from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan and Turkmenistan increased by 5 and 3.7 times, respectively.
Previously Uzbekistan received a phytosanitary permit for the export of agricultural products to a number of countries.
In particular, Uzbekistan has the opportunity to export onions to South Korea, the US and Japan. Markets in China, Japan, India, Myanmar and Ghana got the permission for the export of melons.
In addition, pistachios from Uzbekistan can be supplied to the markets of India, the Philippines, Japan, Bangladesh, Iran, Morocco, Pakistan and Jordan.
Earlier it was reported that the export of fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan for 9M2020 in value terms amounted to $571.5 million, which is $387.8 million less than in the same period last year ($959.3 million).
