The Baku Textile Factory LLC plans to produce 8 million medical masks in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park LLC during December 2020, Director of Baku Textile Factory LLC Sakina Babayeva told Trend.
According to Babayeva, Baku Textile Factory produces 400,000 medical masks a day.
“The demand for medical masks is increasing every day. The selling price of masks that are produced at the enterprise ranges from 0.12-0.17 manat (7-10 cents),” the director noted.
She noted that the factory had applied for a certificate confirming the hygiene and complete sterility of the medical masks.
“Within two weeks, we will receive an international certificate from Switzerland and start exporting masks. We’re also going to start negotiations with Latvia and Moldova after receiving the certificate,” said Babayeva.
In 2019, the factory increased production by 40 percent compared to 2018. Currently, the Baku Textile Factory employs 300 people and operates seven production lines.
Baku Textile Factory LLC has been operating since 1939. In fact, it was the first textile factory in the South Caucasus region. The factory has been equipped with the latest equipment and technologies from Germany and Japan. The experienced specialists work at the factory.
The production of casual wear, evening dresses, corporate, children's, sports and medical clothing, school uniforms and all types of workwear, including military uniforms has been established at the factory.
