Kazakstan’s Shymkent city with a population of over a million people started to implement the task to increase the manufacturing industry by at least 1.5 times in 5 years, set by the country’s president for the city in his message to the nation, with enthusiasm, Mayor of the metropolis Murat Aytenov said during a briefing at the Central Communications Service under the President of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

According to Aytenov, several initiatives related to the task are already underway.

It’s planned to implement here 60 investment projects worth 105 billion tenge ($250 million). More than 8,000 jobs will be created,” he said.

“Moreover, one of the priorities of the message is the full-fledged independent provision of socially significant food products. Within the second one, there will be created ‘Bozaryk’ food industrial zone. Here a plant for the production of compound feeds with biological additives and dairy products will be built, as well as projects for processing and preserving milk, meat, fruits, and vegetables will be implemented jointly with foreign investors.”

In general, in Shymkent, priority is given to the processing of agricultural products. For this year alone, 18 agricultural investment projects worth 7.6 billion tenge ($1.8 million) have been planned, and to date 10 of them have been implemented.

As a result, the production value of agricultural goods exceeded 30 billion tenge ($70 million). The volume of investments in the area amounted to 7 billion tenge ($1.66 million), which is almost 2 times more than in the same period of last year.
