Georgia sees increase in tangerines export

Georgia exported 9,476 tons of tangerines worth $4.6 million as of December 6, Trend reports via the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.

The harvest of tangerines is currently in active phase and export is carried out in parallel with the arrival of the arrival.

The export volume of mandarins in this period is 138 percent higher than the export volume for the same period in 2019, and the value of exports increased by $149,000.

The tangerines produced this year were mainly exported to the Russian Federation (185 tons).

Georgian mandarins were also exported to Ukraine, Moldova, and Kazakhstan.

Harvest forecast - up to 40,000 tons. The tangerine harvest in Georgia this year is small, but the quality has improved.

The appropriate headquarters is working to organize the harvest and placement. Custom tangerines are delivered, processed, controlled, and registered electronically.

Up to 7,000 tons of non-standard tangerines are expected this year.

The volume of exports of tangerines during this period is 138 percent higher than the volume of exports in the same period in 2019, and the value of exports increased by $149,000.
