Kazakhstan is open for establishing new cooperation links in agriculture digitalization process, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Agriculture Saparkhan Omarov said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

In his words, digitalization in Kazakhstan is seen as the main way to diversify the national economy, and thus the ministry is proactive in introducing farmer-oriented digitalization in the country.

In Omarov’s words, the ministry’s proactivity is focused on the maximal automation of the processes of public administration, regulation and public services. In addition, the ministry is working on the introduction of precision agriculture, scaling the project of "digital farms" in all regions of the country.

Furthermore, the recently-introduced ‘smart systems’ have increased the animal husbandry output by over 20 percent, in plant growing by 30 percent, whereas the farmer’s expenditures were decreased by 20 percent.

Furthermore, currently the ministry is in the process of introducing a traceability system for agricultural products, which will ensure food safety and transparency of products export/import. The ministry is also introducing a labeling system for agricultural products, which will protect the market from counterfeit goods.

In the near future, there are plans to launch an electronic trading platform for agricultural products, which will increase the volume of direct sales up to 20 percent, excluding the link of intermediaries.

Omarov also noted that the ministry is offering subsidies for the purchase of digital equipment and the latest technological agricultural machinery to the farmers, is holding events to develop human capital, increase digital literacy of farmers and train specialists in digital disciplines in the agricultural sector.
