Iran exported 1.21 tons of caviar to 22 countries during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through November 20, 2020), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.
According to Latifi, the value of caviar exported from Iran over the reporting period amounted to $624,000.
Latifi added that 68 percent of Iranian caviar was exported to European, 30 percent to Asian, 1 percent to South and North American and 1 percent to Oceania countries.
"Iran exported caviar worth $114,000 to Germany, worth $106,000 to Belgium, worth $81,000 to Japan, worth $75,600 to the UK, worth $62,200 to the UAE, worth $57,500 to the Netherlands and worth $37,500 to Spain,” he said.
The spokesman noted that Iran has also exported caviar to Russia, Oman, Hong Kong, Italy, Canada, Qatar, Australia, Kuwait, Switzerland, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Sweden and Cambodia.
Latifi stressed that the highest amount of sale was 220 kilograms and the lowest was 1 kilogram.
"The average price of 1 kg of Iranian caviar for 8 months was $514," he said.
