Azerbaijan's eleven-month metallurgical production rises

The value of raw materials produced in the Azerbaijani metallurgical industry over the past 11 months of 2020 made up 604.4 million manat ($355.5 million), down by 4.2 percent compared to 11M2019, Trend reports citing the report of the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee.

During the mentioned period, a total of 227,500 tons of steel were melted in Azerbaijan, which is a decline of 24.9 percent. Meanwhile, the country produced 203,100 tons of fittings, down by 26.8 percent year on year.

In accordance with the report, from January through November 2020, 29,100 tons of steel pipes were produced (a drop of 33.4 percent). Up to 28,700 tons of primary alloys were obtained from unprocessed aluminum, a decrease of 6.5 percent.

Prefabricated building structures made of ferrous metals worth 21.2 million manat ($12.4 million) were produced, a decrease of 24.3 percent, other structures made of ferrous metals - about 31,400 tons, an increase of 55.5 percent.

Some 4,740 tons of flexible wires, cables, and bare copper wire, showing a growth of 16.2 percent, were produced.

The volume of raw materials production in the Azerbaijani metallurgical industry amounted to 763.5 million manat ($449.1 million) in 2019, decreasing by 20 percent compared to 2018.

The production of finished metal products increased by 82.4 percent, amounting to 214.6 million manat ($126.2 million).

Thus, the overall industrial production in Azerbaijan increased by 35.5 percent and the total gross production amounted to 901.4 million manat ($530.2 million).
