More than 9,000 cars have been imported to Iran since March 21, 2018, Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.
Latifi said that about 12,700 cars entered to Iran’s customs during the reporting period.
The spokesman added that there wasn't the custom registration of 1,100 cars related to the order. In addition, the registration of 400 cars was canceled.
"About 700 cars remained at Iranian customs, which were brought to the country before the registered for order," he noted.
Latifi emphasized that moreover, there are also more than 2,000 car cases in the Justice System. These cars can be released by court decision.
There are a number of rules for importing cars to Iran. These rules have to some extent restricted car imports to Iran. The main purpose is to encourage the use of domestic manufacturing.
