Plant for manufacturing of Yutong buses, electric buses launched in Kazakhstan

The plant for manufacturing of buses, electric buses and other types of vehicles under the Yutong brand was launched in Saran city of Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region, Trend reports.

The QazTehna plant the capacity of which is 1,200 buses and electric buses, as well as 500 units of specialized vehicles was launched in cooperation with Yutong company.

The project implementation cost was 23 billion tenge ($54.7 million).

The plant oversees the launch of several production cycles: welding, painting, component production, a research center, as well as a track for testing and checking equipment.

The project implementation is expected to give impetus to development of Karaganda region’s economy and support implementation of program for renewal and modernization of public transport via locally-manufactured buses.

As of December 2019, Yutong's total sales in Kazakhstan exceeded 2,000 units, accounting for more than 40 percent of China's large and medium-sized buses exported to Kazakhstan during the period.

Nowadays, Yutong has become the bus brand with the largest quantity of the large and medium-sized buses in the Kazakhstan market.

So far, Yutong totally has eight service stations and one spare part warehouse in Kazakhstan. In order to ensure the smooth operation of the gas-run buses, Yutong has worked out a special service plan, including vehicle maintenance, training on driving habits etc.
