OSCE, Turkmenistan develop project work plan for next year

Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Turkmenistan have developed a project plan for the next year based on the achievements of previous years, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenportal information portal.

This was stated by the Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, Ambassador Natalya Drozd.

The OSCE Center in Ashgabat plans to continue its projects, launch a number of projects, including on such issues as strengthening cybersecurity and digitalization of customs procedures, development of e-commerce and attracting foreign investment, monitoring of judicial processes, and interaction of state bodies with the public and the media during a pandemic and emergencies in 2021.

"I am sure that our activities in the coming year will contribute to strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE and achieving our common goals," Drozd added.

A report on project activities in 2020 was also presented, the main areas of which were preventive diplomacy and border management, promotion of cross-border trade and transit potential, as well as environmental protection, the rule of law, and media reform.

Earlier, the OSCE and Turkmenistan discussed possible steps to develop a program of Turkmenistan for the development of energy diplomacy.

An overview of international priorities in the energy sector was presented, as well as an analysis of global trends and strategies in this area.

Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of energy diplomacy.
