Some 403.2 tons of vodka, worth $2.59 million have been exported from Georgia from January through November 2020, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The volume shrank 4 percent in comparison with the same period of the prior year. With 42 percent Israel was the principal exporter of vodka from Georgia from January through November 2020.
Some 421.1 tons, $3.11 million of vodka has been exported from Georgia during the first 11 months of 2019. This year, the volume has been reduced by 17.9 tons and amounted to 403.2 tons or $2.59 million.
With 168.6 tons, $981,800 Israel has been the top destination for Georgian vodka exporters during the current year. It is noteworthy, that while the total volume of vodka export has shown a slight drop this year, the share to Israel maintained a growth trend since the volume of export to Israel last year was 118.6 tons, $ 710,600.
A comparably insignificant decline in export has been shown to Azerbaijan this year, which is the third exporter of vodka from Georgia. 30.7 tons or $224, 900 has been exported to Azerbaijan in 2020, down from 31.2 tons, or $212, 500 from January through November 2019.
Together with Israel, in which the export this year has grown by 50 tons, the growth trend has been shown in Ukraine – by 14.5 tons, Turkmenistan – 5.1 tons, and Belarus – 1.1 tons.

Aside from its affordable price and long-standing brand presence, wide distribution plays a key role in the success of the brand, which is available even in more remote and rural areas of Georgia.
