Kazakhstan decreases exports to Italy amid COVID-19

The value of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and İtaly amounted to $6.2 billion over the first ten months of 2020, compared to $8.3 billion during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The share of İtaly in the total value of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover stood at 8.8 percent during the reporting period, compared to 10.2 percent during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export to İtaly amounted to $5.4 billion over the period from January through Oct. 2020, compared to $6.8 billion during the same period of 2019.

Italy’s share in the total volume of Kazakhstan’s exports amounted to 14 percent during the reporting period of 2020 compared to 14.3 percent during the same period of 2019.

In turn, Kazakhstan’s imports from İtaly amounted to nearly $751.4 million over the reporting period, compared to $1.4 billion during the same period of 2019.

İtaly’s share in the total volume of Kazakhstan’s imports amounted to 2.4 percent during the reporting period of 2020 compared to 4.3 percent during the same period of 2019.

The total volume of Kazakhstan’s trade turnover amounted to $70.4 billion over the period from January through Oct. 2020 which indicates a decrease from $81.1 billion during the same period of 2019.

Kazakhstan’s export amounted to $39.2 billion during the reporting period of 2020 ($48.1 billion in the same period of 2019), whereas imports amounted to $31.2 billion ($32.9 billion in 2019).

During the reporting period, the main articles of Kazakhstan and İtaly's trade turnover were food products, agricultural products, as well as products of the chemical industry.
