A total of 441,000 tons of goods worth more than 52 trillion rials (about $1.24 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the last Iranian week (January 2 through January 7), Trend reports citing the IME’s official website.

However, 996,000 tons of goods worth more than 113 trillion rials (about $2.69 billion) were sold at the Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) in the preceding Iranian week (December 26 through December 31).

According to the report, about 108,000 tons of goods worth about 18.3 trillion rials (about $436 million) were sold in the industrial and mining products section of IME in the last week.

"So, 101,000 tons of steel, 5,700 tons of aluminum, 840 tons of copper, 120 tons of molybdenum sulfur, 15 tons of precious metal concentrate, 800 tons of coke, and 3 kg of gold bars were sold in this section," the report said.

In addition, more than 330,000 tons of various oil and petrochemical products worth about 33.6 trillion rials (about $799 million) were sold in the oil and petrochemical products section of IME in the last Iranian week, the report said.

According to the report, 64,800 tons of vacuum bottom, 119,000 tons of bitumen, 57,700 tons of polymeric substances, 33,300 tons of chemicals, 16,000 tons of lube cut, 2,570 tons base oil, 50 tons of argon, and 38,500 tons of sulfur were sold in this section.

Furthermore, 2,710 tons of various products were sold in the submarket section of the exchange.
