Kazakhstan's 2020 agriculture output increases country-wide

Kazakhstan’s agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output amounted to 6.27 trillion tenge ($14.9 billion) in 2020, which is 5.6 percent more compared to the same period of the last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Some 6.24 trillion tenge ($14.8 billion) accounted for agriculture alone including 3.6 trillion ($8.5 billion) accounting for plant growing, and 2.6 trillion tenge ($6.2 billion) - for animal husbandry.

The increase in the agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output during the reporting period was due to the increase of plant growing volume by 7.8 percent, slaughter volumes of livestock and poultry in live weight by 4.1 percent, and yield of raw cow's milk by 3.2 percent.

Almaty region leads by the total value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output, which reached 921.4 billion tenge ($2.1 billion) in 2020, showing a 2.3-percent increase compared to the same period of 2019.

This includes 488.9 billion tenge ($1.1 billion) worth of plant growing output and 426.3 billion tenge ($1.01 billion) of animal husbandry output.

Second and third places accounted for North Kazakhstan and Turkestan regions.

The value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the North Kazakhstan region amounted to 778.8 billion tenge ($1.8 billion), which is 1 percent more than during the same period of last year.

This includes 597.4 billion tenge ($1.4 billion) worth of plant growing output and 178.06 billion tenge ($423.9 million) of animal husbandry output.

In turn, agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output in the Turkestan region amounted to 729.7 billion tenge ($1.7 billion), which is 5.1 percent more than during the same period of 2019.

This includes 422.7 billion tenge ($1 billion) worth of plant growing output and 303.3 billion tenge ($722.1 million) of animal husbandry output.

An increase in agriculture, forestry, and fishery gross output was observed in all 14 Kazakh regions during the reporting period.
