Azerbaijan’s import of fruits, nuts down in 2020

By early 2020, Azerbaijan's export of fruits, nuts and citrus peels totaled $307.5 million, which shows a decrease by five percent or $16.3 million on an annualized basis, Trend reports with reference to the statistics bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

The share of these products in total export of Azerbaijan increased from 1.77 percent to 2.35 percent.

There is a slight decline by $565,850 (0.5 percent) in import operations of fruits, nuts and citrus peels for the year. The volume amounted to 107.9 million manat ($63.5 million). The share of these products in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 1.11 percent compare to 0.88 percent in 2019.

The total foreign trade turnover of fruits, nuts and citrus peels as of early December 2020 amounted to $415.4 million, which is by 3.9 percent or $16.9 million less than in the same period of 2019.

In general, by early December 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to more than $22.7 billion. More than $13 billion (57.42 percent) of that amount accounted for export and $9.7 billion (42.58 percent) - for import.
