Major foreign companies to support logistics and fulfillment center creation in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s KAZAKH INVEST National Company and Wholesale Retail Trade Enterprise JSC signed a memorandum of cooperation to support construction of an automated logistics and fulfillment center in Nur-Sultan city, Trend reports citing KAZAKH INVEST.

The construction is planned in accordance to the latest international standards. The logistics center is expected to provide storage and delivery solutions for a wide range of product categories such as electronics, home appliances, home and garden, beauty, children and toys, sports, entertainment, transportation and more.

The major foreign companies operating in the field of warehouse automation - Dematic (Luxembourg), KNAPP (Austria), SSI Schafer (the US) are to be attracted to the project implementation.

The investments into the project are to be about $15 million at the initial stage.

The funds will be used for the construction of a logistics center building with a total area of ​​20, square meters, which will create 200 permanent jobs.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. Upon completion of the first stage, the process of automation (robotization) of the logistics center up is to begin, bringing the total investment to $70- $100 million.

The project participants expect that its implementation will give impetus to the development of e-commerce and introduction of new digital technologies in the country.
