Volume of goods available in Iranian ports revealed

There are about 7.27 million tons of goods in Iranian ports at present, Deputy Chairman of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO) Farhad Montaser Koohsari said, Trend reports citing PMO’s official website.

The deputy chairman noted that of this, 4.12 million tons are essential products, and 3.15 million tons are non-essential products.

He added that the largest volume of essential products available in Iranian ports is corn, which is 2.36 million tons. Soybeans are the second in terms of volume. So, there are 540,000 tons of soybeans in Iranian ports.

Koohsari emphasized that the most volume of essential products are in the Imam Khomeini port - 3 million tons, the Shahid Rajaee port - 349,000 tons, and the Amirabad port - 317,000 tons.

"At present, 17 ships docked in Iranian ports and these ships have 549,000 tons of goods. In addition, 15 ships are waiting to dock at the ports. These ships have 660,000 tons of goods,” he said.

The corn, wheat, barley, soybeans, rice, sugar, and oilseeds are considered essential products in Iran.
