Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration proposed to supply natural uranium concentrates and uranium products of Kazatomprom’s manufacturing to the nuclear power ventures in the Czech Republic, Trend reports citing the ministry.
The topic was discussed during a meeting of the co-chairs of the Kazakh-Czech intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial, and scientific-technical cooperation, i.e Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic Martina Tauberova and Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebayev held in a video format.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the health sector during the COVID-19 pandemic.
To date, the two countries are implementing a project for the construction of a 50 MW solar power plant the total cost of which is $135 million, and additional six projects are being worked out for a total of $700 million.
In order to develop trade cooperation, Kazakh experts have prepared a list of goods that can be potentially supplied to the Czech market.
The list included more than 45 product names for a total amount of $324.8 million worth of exports. In these goods are exported the export of petrochemical products will go up by $144 million, metallurgy by $61.5 million, food industry by $58 million, chemical products by $20.4 million, mechanical engineering by $26.1 million, and construction goods by $14.8 million.
During the meeting, the Kazakh side also voiced several proposals on the creation of a center for the repair and modernization of machine tools and the production of components and spare parts for them (technopark), as well as a research center for the development of production in Kazakhstan of a component base for their further use in domestic industries; development of container cargo transportation route from China towards Europe to/from/via the Czech Republic.
