Turkmenistan is ready to take practical steps to establish a logistics center in the Astrakhan Region of the Russian Federation, said Consul General of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan of Guych Garayev, Trend reports with reference to “Astraxanskiy listok” information postal.
Garayev said this at the meeting with Deputy Head of the Government of Astrakhan Region, Minister of Economic Development of Astrakhan Region Kazbek Khadikov.
"We are ready to organize a working visit to the Astrakhan region of specialists who will deal with practical issues related to the creation of the center," the consul said.
The parties noted that it is logical to place the center on the territory of the Special economic zone being created in the Astrakhan region,.
In addition, the logistics center can become not only a wholesale and transshipment base for Turkmen goods but also a place for the production of its own products.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to provide the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan with the necessary information about the conditions and procedure for establishing the center in the region, as well as to organize a meeting with the general director of the management company of Lotus special economic zone.
Consul of Turkmenistan in Russia’s Astrakhan Guych Garayev and Governor of Russia’s Astrakhan region Igor Babushkin discussed the possibility of opening a logistics center for Turkmen goods on the territory of a new economic zone near Olya port on the Caspian Sea of Russia’s Astrakhan during their meeting on August 12, 2020.
Earlier, representatives of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region held a meeting to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of trade and expressed interest in the supply of products manufactured in Turkmenistan to Astrakhan.
