Eurasian Development Bank to co-op with Kazakh Trade Ministry on digital projects support

Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Trade and Integration have signed a memorandum on cooperation aimed to establish and develop long-term, mutually beneficial cooperation in the implementation of digital projects in the field of trade in Kazakhstan and other EDB member states, Trend reports citing EDB.

Thus, within the memorandum, the parties agreed to increase the involvement of the private sector, including small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to scale the best digital solutions in the field of trade in the Eurasian space.

The memorandum said that the cooperation is to be carried out i8n the areas such as the promotion of the export of non-primary goods and services, development of domestic trade, improvement of trade infrastructure, development of exchange and electronic commerce, the involvement of small and medium-sized businesses in integration processes through the use of digital solutions in the Eurasian space and the study of possible options for organizing the financing of projects implemented by the ministry.

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) is an international financial organization that promotes the integration and development of the participating countries. The authorized capital of the EDB is the US $ 7 billion.

The bank was established in January 2006 by Russia and Kazakhstan, with headquarters in Almaty. The main share in the EDB's portfolio is occupied by projects with an integration effect in the areas of transport infrastructure, energy, chemical and mining industries, and mechanical engineering.
