Kazakhstan sees increase in oil, petrochemicals prices

The prices of Kazakhstan-manufactured goods increased by 5.1 percent in Jan. 2021 as compared to Dec. 2020 and dropped by 1.2 percent compared to Jan. 2020, Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

The prices in the mining industry increased by 8.4 percent compared to Dec. 2020 and decreased by 10.9 percent compared to Jan. 2020. Thus, the prices of oil increased by 11.2 percent, coal by 1.2 percent, whereas metal ores prices dropped by 0.9 percent.

Prices in processing industry increased by 1.4 percent compared to Dec. 2020 and by 10.7 percent compared to Jan. 2020. Prices on copper increased by 8.3 percent, lead by 6.2 percent, aluminum by 5.5 percent, zinc by 1.6 percent, ferroalloys by 0.8 percent, precious metals by 0.5 percent.

Fuel oil increased in price by 2.6 percent, whereas liquefied propane and butane decreased in price by 1 percent, diesel fuel by 0.3 percent.

Among food products, prices increased on sugar by 3.6 percent, vegetable oil by 2.6 percent, tea by 1.6 percent, dairy products by 1.2 percent, pasta by 1.1 percent, wheat flour and cereals by 0.6 percent each, poultry meat and bread by 0.4 percent each.

In electricity and water supply, prices for steam and hot water supply services increased by 1.4 percent, electricity, including distribution services by 1.3 percent, water distribution services by 0.4 percent, for gas distribution services decreased by 0.6 percent.
