The value of foreign investments made in the Razavi Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) has increased by 80 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020), compared to last Iranian year, Director General of the Investment Support Department of the Razavi Khorasan Governor's Office Mehdi Taqvayi told ISNA, Trend reports.

Taqvayi stressed that $141 million worth of foreign investments were approved to be made in Razavi Khorasan Province in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020). This figure reached $256 million in the current Iranian year. Of this, about $130 million has been invested for the implementation of the related projects.

The director general added that certain investors from various countries in Asia and Europe invest in the province. However, the main investors are from neighboring countries. These investors fund the province's industry, alternative renewable energy, services and transport sectors.

“In general, 1,490 facilities worth 69 trillion rials (about $1.64 billion) were put into operation in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province. These facilities operate in trade, industry and mining sectors recently (within a ten-day event dedicated to the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran on February 1-11),” he said.
